Commercial and Industrial Security Corporations (CISCO)

CISCO had its origins in the Police Guard and Escort Unit (formed in
1959) and was made a statutory board in July 1972. In 2005, CISCO was
dissolved as a statutory board and reconstituted as a corporate entity.
CISCO then left the Home Team. Today, the company is known as CISCO
Security Pte Ltd and is a fully-owned subsidiary of Temasek Holdings.
Singapore Immigration (SI)

In 1995, the Immigration Department was renamed as Singapore
Immigration. A new logo was launched by then-Minister for Home Affairs
Wong Kan Seng at the foundation stone ceremony for the SI Building in
1995.
SI became an autonomous agency in 1996. All immigration offices moved from the Pidemco Centre to the new building at Kallang Road in 1997. The Singapore Immigration and the National Registration Department merged to form Singapore Immigration & Registration in 1998.

In 1981, the National Registration Department was established under the
Ministry of Home Affairs. It comprised 4 registries: The Registry of
Births and Deaths, the Registry of Citizens, the Registry of Societies,
and the National Registration Office. In 1966, the National Registration
Department became autonomous and later merged with the Singapore
Immigration in 1998 to form the Singapore Immigration & Registration.
