Back in 1997, Francis and Michael were selected to represent their
respective departments in the Home Team ‘Here to Make it Right’ advert.
25 years on, they are currently still serving in the Home Team.

Michael Ling was still an INSP with the Prisons Department when he
appeared in the 1997 advert. Shortly after, Michael left the service
for a short while and rejoined later as a civilian officer.
Today, he is a Senior Assistant Director (Homefront Crisis Coordination Centre) with MHA’s Joint Operations Group.

Francis Ng was still a Captain with the Singapore Civil Defence
Force when he appeared in the 1997 advert.
He has risen through the ranks over the years and is now an Assistant Commissioner leading the SCDF Training Department as its Director.
